Clam Slam 2010 Toronto

Clam Slam is happening this weekend and we are super excited – derby girls from all over Canada and the U.S. will be in town to play and watch the Clam Diggers take on the Vagine Regime! Cardinal Skate Shop and RollerBug.com will be there with as much stuff as we can pack up from the shop. Kandy Barr and Dust Bunny of the (Gore-Gore Rollergirls and Cardinal Skate Shop) stopped by a GTA Rollergirls game to check out the derby action and set up a mini shop for the evening.

RollerBug.com present Full Contact: a roller derby photo event to exhibit and give props to roller derby photographers!

Full Contact will be taking place at Cardinal Skate Shop (Toronto’s only roller derby specialty store) on Saturday June 26th from 7pm-10pm. If you are in the area (or even if you aren’t!) come by the shop and see some great roller derby photos. All prints in the exhibit will be available to buy!!

We are very excited about these skates. We have been working with Dominion Skate Co. for the past six months to develop these boots for roller derby! Store Opening

Wow! We have been super busy This update is a little late but we finally opened our first brick and mortar store location in Toronto on March 13th, 2010. The store is co-owned by Common Ground Skateboard Facility’s Glen Field and is roller derby, skateboard, snowboard, shoes and apparel shop! The store location is called Cardinal Skate Shop and is located at 2142 Bloor Street West, Toronto, ON. We will post pics of the store soon….

Heartless Wheels – Stalker

Just started skating on these super narrow wheels. We skate on treated concrete and it is pretty slippery so I definitely like the grip of the 88A Stalker wheels. They offer just enough grip to still get some power from your stride while the super narrow profile means they are still speedy wheels. I didn’t feel that the grip was holding me back speed wise at all. Heartless is dedicated to making narrow profile wheels for derby skaters who are interested in and working towards ultimate agility in and through the pack. They have succeeded with this wheel! In addition to being a high performance wheel I also love the way they look. Definitely the coolest designed wheels and I am also a sucker for black wheels – I wish all wheels came in black! Whether you are a jammer or a blocker if you are looking for a grippy wheels and to increase your agility I highly recommend these wheels.

Atom Stinger Slim Wheels Review

Hi!… I’m Dust Bunny from Toronto Roller Derby, and I bought a set of Stinger 38mm wheels and I love them!!! As a jammer I was much more agile, and I was able to achieve much more powerful crossovers around the corners. I seriously kept saying that I felt like a super hero!
